The Transoft Project Methodology starts with the concept of a PathFinder Assessment phase to identify, scope, resolve, and analyse the project in detail.  Experience has repeatedly confirmed that the investigative time spent before commencing a comprehensive data or application integration, modernization or migration project pays for itself many times over, and facilitates prudent decisions and selection of appropriate strategic alternatives. 

Transoft’s PathFinder Assessment phase will also focus on risk mitigation to ensure the delivery of a successful project on time and to budget.

For application migration, the Transoft Project Methodology consists of a six-step process:

  • Step 1: PathFinder Assessment

    Assets analysis; de-risk issues; migration solutions; project & work package plan; costs & timescales; migration Statement of Work
  • Step 2: Migration Project Initiation & Tools Configuration

    Set-up environment; apply unique migration needs; enhance converter rules; enhance run-time components etc
  • Step 3: Initial Migration

    Small portion of application migrated; convert program code; convert screen/forms; job scripts; data structures & content; install & configure run-time components; migration testing
  • Step 4: Main Migration

    Multiple time-boxed work packages; similar to Initial Migration
  • Step 5: Customer Testing and Acceptance

    Progressive testing of Initial Migration & work packages leading to final acceptance
  • Step 6: Go Live

    Implementation of live application in target environment
