Two years later, they began providing real-time quotes on the Internet and started receiving online insurance application requests from consumers. However, their data processing requirements became more complex and heterogeneous - and the customer applications for insurance coming from the Web were having to be returned in hard copy form so they could be data-entered into the legacy system.
