Al Gain, VP of Product Development, AMISYS
Since Hewlett-Packard announced the end of support for its popular HP e3000 platform by the year 2006, companies and vendors that depend on that system have been preparing for the inevitable transition to new environments. One such provider is AMISYS LLC, which offers information management solutions for healthcare payers. Its AMISYS 3000 suite, which runs on the HP e3000 server, is recognized as one of the most robust and functional systems available to health plans.
With more than 100 customers using AMISYS 3000 on an installed or timeshare basis, the company started investigating options and companies that could support the migration of its product to the HP-UX platform. AMISYS selected a migration strategy because it met customer demands to retain the rich functionality of AMISYS 3000 within a low-cost, low-risk solution.
AMISYS chose Transoft who relished the "opportunity to demonstrate that a highly advanced application like AMISYS 3000 could be ported to HP-UX without risk and at a fraction of the cost of redeveloping it."
