Keane Inc, the $400 million open systems and consultancy vendor based in New York, originally decided to re-engineer their DG MV COBOL applications to Sybase. But the problems inherent in such a project gradually became apparent.

After 18 months of intensive but unsuccessful effort, something new was clearly needed.

Keane turned to Transoft to convert their 2,000 programs to Micro Focus COBOL on a DG AViiON under DG/UX.
