The core U/BL - Universal
Business Language - product is a commercial BASIC programming
environment. Developed from the hugely successful UBB
Universal Business Basic product, U/BL represents a new
era in Business Basic programming.
RAD - At a time when BASIC has undergone
a renaissance, and the industry is recognizing its potential
for Rapid Application Development (RAD), U/BL's functionality
provides a highly productive development environment.
For example, U/BL's powerful features include shared procedures,
enabling you to create encapsulated libraries as RAD building
blocks. In addition, U/BL supports embedded SQL file I/O
for non-relational and relational data, providing rapid
reporting and database independence.
U/Gi the terminal emulator with a difference
- U/Gi is Windows-based and emulates VT, DG and other
terminals. U/Gi also has a unique 'Windowizing' thin-client
presentation management capability that gives your U/BL
applications a Windows look and feel without having to
write new code or learn a Windows development environment.
And once you have integrated U/Gi with your applications,
it's simple to add features like image and sound.

provide a GUI interface to your U/BL applications you
can serve both Windows and character screen users with
a single set of source. As users realize that Windows

select colors and fonts, use bitmap pictures and sound,
ASCII & binary file transfer, cut & paste to other
Windows applications, screen history, supports TCP/IP
or RS/232.
U/SQL Report Writer - Transoft's add-on
U/SQL Report Writer product is an established fully functional
reporting tool allowing programmers and end-users alike
to develop customized reports for both ad hoc and routine
reports.
U/SQL Embedded Report Writer - U/BL
allows programmers to incorporate the functionality of
U/SQL Report Writer in U/BL programs using its unique
Embedded Report Writer capability. Using this you can
create application reports with just one line of code,
boosting programmer productivity. Simple SQL SELECT statements
are used to define the fields required for the report
and using standard GROUP, ORDER and SUM functionality
you can create complex application reports very quickly.
Embedded U/SQL Report Writer even supports run-time parameters,
so the criteria for the report can be varied at run-time.
Embedded U/SQL Report Writer will automatically create
a default layout for each report.
U/BL data management - Relational databases
offer benefits of data management, security, open connectivity
and a shared data dictionary. But it is widely recognized
that they frequently fail to provide the on-line transaction
processing (OLTP) performance of traditional ISAM file
structures. Hence users usually have to accept a reduction
in OLTP performance to gain the benefits of an RDBMS solution.
No compromise - However, U/BL's unique
data management capabilities avoid this compromise. They
give you the high performance of a traditional ISAM structure
- plus the data management and connectivity of a relational
database. The secret is Transoft's radical U/SQL technology.
U/SQL Server - U/SQL Server is the core
of Transoft's revolutionary U/SQL Data Adapter family
of products. It is a fully optimized SQL RDBMS Server,
providing a normalized relational view of U/BL data and
interactive ANSI SQL access to U/BL and RDBMS data.
Plus ODBC access - U/SQL Server is Open
Database Connectivity (ODBC) enabled, and by simply adding
Transoft's U/SQL ODBC driver, you can use any PC client-based
ODBC-aware software to access U/BL data as if it were
a relational database. This means you can report on your
data using popular PC products such as Crystal Reports,
Impromptu or Microsoft Query. You can even develop client/server
applications that both access and update your U/BL data
using products like Visual Basic, Visual C++ or PowerBuilder.
