Transoft
Component Adapters chosen by Bancomext to integrate
legacy applications
5 November 2003 – Transoft,
a leader in enabling companies to evolve new solutions from
existing applications, announced that Omnisys, its business
partner in Mexico, reached an agreement to supply its software
solutions to Mexico’s Bancomext (Banco Nacional de
Comercio Exterior). The Transoft
Screen Component Adapters
connect Web front-ends to Bancomext’s AS400-based legacy
system.
“Our family of adapters
is highly valued by customers like Bancomext,” said
Dave Roth, vice president of business development for
Transoft. “We offer a fast-to-implement,
non-intrusive integration solution without the limitations
and problems of more traditional screen scrapers.”
Additionally,
the return on investment in this approach to legacy integration
is very attractive, according to Ernesto Anaya, presale
manager at Omnisys in Mexico City. “Transoft tools
offer substantial savings over a typical AS400 emulation
program,” he
said. “A Transoft-based solution costs less than
$20 per user – and it’s much more flexible
and advanced than an emulator.”
Bancomext, a government-owned
development bank created to finance and promote Mexico´s
participation in foreign trade and investment, unveiled
its new Web-based
versions of existing legacy applications during the
summer and has expressed its satisfaction with their
performance.
