2002 - UNIX Operating Systems-Supported Revisions Update
Dear Transoft Customer,
When Operating Systems' manufacturers withdraw support
on a particular revision or complete platform Transoft
has no choice but to follow. Failure to do so would prevent
us from providing effective support for business critical
systems. Please see the following list for operating systems
that are either being completely withdrawn or where a
particular revision is no longer being supported.
ICL DRS6000 (SPARC) - All Transoft products
Transoft is giving notice that we will be discontinuing
support of this platform range from the 1st March 2002.
After that date our policy for the support of discontinued
operating systems (detailed below) will be in effect.
16-bit Products
Transoft has not actively developed or maintained any
16-bit products for the last 12 months, we are now giving
notice that we will no longer provide technical support
for any 16-bit software from the 1st March 2002.
IBM AIX 4.3.2 - All Transoft products
Transoft is announcing that support for AIX 4.3.2 is being
withdrawn on 1st March 2002. From this point onwards Transoft
will be building its product range on AIX 4.3.3 which
IBM advises is binary compatible with AIX 5L. More IBM

Transoft Support Policy for Discontinued Revisions
of Operating Systems
For a site with a non-supported version of an
operating system covered by a currently paid-up support
contract, then:
1. Support queries for the Transoft product can be logged
with Transoft Customer Services.
2. Any reported problem will be checked against the current
shipping version.
3. If found to be fixed you will be advised to upgrade
to the current revision of the Operating System. If the
Operating System in question has been completely withdrawn
then a suitable replacement will need to be installed.
4. If the problem still exists, you will either be given
a work-around or a fix will be made in the current or
subsequent version of the product depending on the nature
of the problem. If the problem requires a fix, you will
then need to upgrade the operating system.
Such a site may upgrade at any time to the current version
of the same hardware platform and any relevant licenses/banners
will be reissued at no charge.
