Transoft
tools to help migrate technology at Mexico’s Pension Fund Administrator
ATLANTA, September 24, 2003 – Transoft,
a leader in enabling companies to evolve new solutions from existing applications, announced that Omnisys, its business partner in Mexico, reached an agreement to serve Afore Allianz Dresdner, one of the largest pension fund administrators in that country. The Transoft Screen Component Adapter installed by Omnisys enables Afore Allianz Dresdner to move its VT-100 legacy mainframe data and applications to a World Wide Web environment.
Transoft Screen Component
Adapters provide a fast to implement, non-intrusive
means of connecting
to terminal-based application "screens-flows" to
provide component-based services. These adapters give
all the advantages of software service oriented architectures,
including performance and scalability, without the disadvantages
of
traditional screen scraping.
“We are thrilled to supply our solutions
to Afore Allianz Dresdner,” said Dave Roth, vice president of business
development for Transoft. “This company interacts daily with thousands
of consumers, so it avoided the risk of re-writing all its highly valued legacy
applications and data into new platforms. We offered the best alternative by
tending a
bridge between the existing system and the Web.”
The new, Web-based interface
allows sales agents at Afore Allianz Dresdner to register and report new
pension fund customers in a single, paperless process
that saves time and avoids data
duplication. Also, current account holders are now able to log in and check
their savings in a much more immediate way: in the previous
system, individual customers
had to wait up to 24 hours to receive account statements.
The savings realized
by Afore Allianz Dresdner by choosing Omnisys and Transoft
are
highly significant. “If the company had purchased a VT-100 emulation program,
its costs
would have been about $300 per user,” added Ernesto Anaya, presales manager
at
Omnisys in Mexico City. “By installing a Transoft-based solution
instead, that cost drops
to less than $20 per user, making it an amazing value.”
Afore Allianz Dresdner
launched its new Web-based applications during the summer and has reported
outstanding results.
The Transoft Screen Component Adapter
is part of the family of Transoft
Intelligent Adapter products. These products allow users to integrate
existing business rules and data with new Java and
Microsoft .NET developments. The adapters
support either nonintrusive interoperability or the option of componentizing
existing code to be used as reusable services in new application developments.
Transoft Intelligent Adapters can be used
in conjunction with the Transoft eToolbox, a Java framework
for web application deployment,
to rapidly create new web-based
versions of existing legacy applications.
