Transoft
to Join the Midrange Alliance Program
27
October 2006 – Transoft, a leader in helping companies evolve their existing legacy
applications, has joined the Midrange Alliance Program (MAP). The
MAP is a strategic initiative by Microsoft and industry
partners to educate enterprises relying on the midrange
proprietary platforms about options for leveraging and
extending investments in their applications, using the Windows
platform and the .NET Framework.
The Alliance includes software companies, service providers
and hardware manufacturers who can help customers to integrate
and enhance their midrange investment, as well as transform it
to deliver more business value at lower cost.
Transoft
has 20 years of proven experience in providing application
migration solutions to the midrange computing market. Today
Transoft is addressing the migration and modernisation needs
of the HP e3000 MPE, VAX and Alpha OpenVMS markets, and, in
the UK, the ICL mainframe market.
The
proprietary midrange market still contains critical enterprise
and departmental business applications. Transoft’s migration
and modernisation solutions provide a low risk and low cost
means of re-hosting these applications into modern
architectures, such as the Microsoft .NET Framework, allowing
them to continue to meet business needs for years to come.
Transoft has conducted migrations all around the world and its
customers include Boeing, Kroger, L’Oreal, NAPA Auto Parts,
Swiss Air Traffic Control, TetraPak and The Home Depot.
“Transoft
is excited by the opportunities the MAP will create to
increase awareness of the benefits of the migration
option as a cost-effective and low risk alternative to
replacing or redeveloping applications”, commented Geoff
Baker, Transoft Managing Director.
“Transoft
is a perfect fit for the Midrange Alliance Program and we are
pleased to have them on board”, said Scott Rosenbloom,
Midrange Alliance Program Manager, Microsoft Corp. “Through
its robust product offerings, Transoft will help customers to
get more value out of their midrange investments with the
Windows platform using the .NET Framework.”
