 Kaz
is an 80-year old manufacturer of home healthcare products
which are sold worldwide. The manufacturing facilities,
located in upstate New York, generated challenging requirements
for the MIS department. As processing demands increased
it became more difficult to keep pace with these needs
within a legacy programming environment and Kaz decided
to modernize the systems.
There were two key MIS requirements - firstly an application
architecture flexible enough to meet the business needs
of the future; plus new applications that limited Kaz's
dependence on scarce and expensive skilled programmers.
After a re-engineering project was shelved, Kaz turned
to Transoft whose Intelligent Adapters enabled existing
business logic to remain intact within the legacy systems,
producing a far greater ROI whilst enhancing the functionality
of the existing software.
