Dow Chemical’s Polyolefin Division has plastic manufacturing plants, both wholly owned and affiliates, distributed around the world. UNIPOLR is a specialized mission critical control application used as part of the plastic manufacturing system.

Dow Chemical had the requirement to port this application from VMS to UNIX and it turned to Transoft who provided its suite of migration tools to address the applications, VMS System Services, compiler, command procedure and user interface dependencies.

Utilizing the consulting services provided by Transoft, Dow Chemical was able to successfully port, test and put UNIPOLR into production on Sun Solaris in a very short timeframe. Dow Chemical continues to license the Transoft/UNIPOLR suite as systems are deployed worldwide. Currently, 17 installations are running 24x7x365 operations with Transoft products.
