Transoft migrate DaimlerChrysler's VMS hosted gas pipeline control and monitoring application to UNIX |

DaimlerChrysler is unique in the automotive industry: their product portfolio ranges from small cars to sports cars and luxury sedans; and from versatile vans to heavy duty trucks or comfortable coaches.
DaimlerChrysler had invested three hundred (300) man-years developing, supporting and enhancing their VMS hosted gas pipeline control and monitoring application. Given growing market pressure to make their solution available on an open systems platform, they decided to move the application to UNIX.

The software development division of DaimlerChrysler purchased Transoft ’s migration tools to port the application from VMS to UNIX. With over one million lines of Fortran with DCL and FMS, Transoft ’s tools were selected as the “Best-Of-Class” for this important project.
As part of the agreement, Transoft provided training and several weeks of consulting services to ensure a good knowledge transfer and support of this very important undertaking.
