Transoft introduces solution to convert DECForms to Windows GUI Forms within OpenVMS migration

Transoft, a leader in helping companies evolve their existing legacy applications, is now offering a solution for DECForms conversion as part of an OpenVMS migration or translation project. DECForms can be taken to a Windows Forms GUI interface which has a familiar, but improved, look & feel.

DECForms can be large and complex with many panels, with embedded validation and event handling logic, and with callbacks to the application code. Transoft tools translate the DECForms into C# Windows Forms which can then be directly viewed and maintained in Visual Studio. With its automated translation process Transoft can quickly evaluate an organization’s DECForms and produce sample Windows forms as part of a Proof of Concept, or PathFinder Assessment phase which identifies the scope of a prospective project.

Transoft has 25 years of experience in modernizing legacy systems, and has conducted many tools-based OpenVMS to open systems migrations for customers such as Springfields Fuels, Balfour Beatty and Mercer.

Transoft’s managing director, John Frith, commented “We are delighted to be able to extend our OpenVMS migration offering even further with the conversion of DECForms to Windows GUI Forms. We believe this will be an important component in many of our future OpenVMS to open systems migrations.
